Schedule Update: The Lashings Now Have Two Home Matches in Encino

Minor League Cricket has revised the 2026 calendar. The Pomona fixtures are off, the Seattle series moves to Encino, and the whole season now fits into one long weekend — starting an hour earlier than announced.

Two weeks ago we told you cricket was coming back to Southern California on September 20. That is still true in every way that matters — the Lashings are playing, entry is still free, and the grounds are still new. What has changed is where and when.

Minor League Cricket has adjusted the 2026 fixture list. The result, for Los Angeles fans, is a better calendar than the one we started with: the Seattle Thunderbolts series has moved from Pomona to the Los Angeles Cricket Ground in Encino, which turns one home match into two. The San Diego Surf Riders fixtures have been consolidated into a double header at Canyonside Park on Monday, September 28.

And every match now starts at 1:00 PM, not 2:00 PM.

Four matches. Three days. All of it over one long weekend.

Two Home Matches Instead of One

This is the part worth celebrating. Under the original schedule, Los Angeles had exactly one home fixture all season. Now the Lashings play back-to-back home matches on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 at the Los Angeles Cricket Ground in Encino.

A full weekend of home cricket in the Valley, on a purpose-built ground, in Lashings colors — that has not happened in Los Angeles in over a year. If you were planning the drive out to Pomona, you now have a shorter trip and twice the cricket.

Saturday is the one to bring people to. Weekend afternoon, easy parking, and a first-timer can follow the whole arc of a limited-overs match from the boundary rope without knowing a single rule going in.

Monday in San Diego: Two Matches, One Trip

The season closes on Monday, September 28 at Canyonside Park in San Diego, where the Lashings and the Surf Riders play a double header — two matches, one venue, one DAY.

If you're driving down from Los Angeles, Orange County, or the Inland Empire, this is the best value day on the calendar: two competitive matches for one tank of gas. Plan for a long afternoon and bring shade.

First Time at a Cricket Match?

Never been? Here's all you need:

• Be Early. The opening overs set the tone of the innings — and remember, the start time moved earlier.
• Bring sun protection. Hat, sunscreen, water. Late September in Encino and San Diego is warm, and matches run several hours.
• Folding chairs and blankets are your friend. Boundary-side seating is casual and first-come.
• Ask questions. LAC members and volunteers are around the ground and happy to explain what's happening — cricket makes far more sense once someone walks you through an over.
• Stay for the finish. Limited-overs cricket is built to come down to the last few overs. That's the best part.
