Note: This analysis is based on officially reported data. These figures reflect registration trends and may not represent actual grassroots participation.
USA Cricket’s 2025 membership figures show a sharp contrast—major drops in most leagues and dramatic increases in a few. While the numbers alone don’t reveal the full story, if used for elections, they hold significant weight.
🔢 National Overview
- 94 of 116 leagues (83%) declined
- 55 had 100% non-renewal
- 83 dropped 80% or more
- Estimated member loss: 5,600+
Despite this, overall membership increased due to large surges in select leagues.

🌴 Southern California Spotlight
The Southern California Cricket Association (SCCA), a bright spot in the list for positive trends, grew from 508 (in 2023) to 671 members (2025) (adding +162 additional registered members). SCCA currently seems to be the only league from the SoCal region registered with USA Cricket. It has 50 teams across 5 divisions, now with 671 total registered members for the upcoming vote.
But that number doesn’t reflect reality. Many active SoCal leagues — hardball and softball alike — operate with hundreds of players who aren’t counted because they haven’t registered. Even the SCCA itself missed membership dues in 2023, only regaining voting rights after the current president cleared the outstanding payments in 2025; No discounts were applied by USA Cricket, a matter for the delay.
Without SoCal in these numbers, an entire region’s cricket population would have been invisible-
