Los Angeles Cricket Launches: Promote and Develop Cricket in LA
Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Cricket (LAC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is proud to announce its official launch, marking a significant milestone in the promotion and development of cricket in the greater Los Angeles area. With the Sepulveda Basin Cricket Complex as its home field, LAC is dedicated to fostering a love for cricket while providing pathways and opportunities for youth and young adults to engage with the sport.
Founded in December 2019, LAC aims to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where cricket can thrive. The organization is focused on ensuring the sport’s growth and sustainability by building high-quality infrastructure and fostering a supportive community.
“Cricket has the potential to be a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ diverse sports culture,” said Deepak Gosain of Los Angeles Cricket. “Our mission is to not only promote the sport but also create meaningful opportunities for young athletes who may not otherwise have access to the resources needed to succeed.”
Plans for the Future
- Youth Cricket League: A structured league to nurture and develop young talent, ensuring the next generation of players is equipped with the skills to excel.
- Youth Academy: A comprehensive training academy featuring turf facilities, professional coaching, and access to high-quality resources to elevate the game.
LAC is also collaborating with the City of Los Angeles and Parks and Recreation to identify and develop cricket-worthy infrastructure across the city. By advocating for and creating state-of-the-art turf facilities, LAC aims to provide the necessary tools for the sport’s long-term success.
