Facilities | Locations
L os Angeles Cricket recognizes that the lack of dedicated cricket fields poses a significant challenge for youth cricket leagues. Without proper fields, our youth programs face limitations in accessibility, player development, and community engagement. By advocating for dedicated cricket facilities, LAC aims to ensure our young players have ample opportunities to grow, thrive, and experience the full benefits of participating in an organized Olympic sport, Cricket. By working closely with LA Rec and Parks, we aim to transform this area into a revitalized space suitable for cricket and other community events, providing a safe, engaging environment for the enjoyment of young athletes and the local community.
Currently, Los Angeles Cricket (LAC) operates at Woodley Park within the Sepulveda Basin in Van Nuys, CA. LAC has been using the Sepulveda Basin Cricket fields since 2019, collaborating with stakeholders including the Southern California Cricket Association (ROE), Minor League Cricket, Los Angeles Lashings, and Major League Cricket. LAC obtains permits directly from the City of Los Angeles Rec and Parks and coordinates with ROE groups for additional field rentals.
We are actively working with LA City Rec & Parks to identify and renovate sports fields for multiple uses, including cricket. The current site at Hansen (see map above) has been unusable for the past four years due to a severe gopher infestation, making it unsafe, especially for youth sports. Restoring this area will require significant work, including gopher removal, soil grading, and ongoing maintenance. Costs are substantial; the city’s quote for gopher removal alone is $10,000. Our programs rely on community funding and support from our generous partners to help develop cricket and sports facilities in Los Angeles.
